Though the ports for the CY3R□ both sides piping type cylinder are located on both end faces of the cover, is it possible to connect piping to the plugged part on the side of the cover as well?

Yes. The plug can be removed and the port can be used for piping. In this case, plug the axial piping port instead.
Note) This is not possible for the CY3R6, though modifications can be made via special order.
