If a CB□ series end lock cylinder cannot be manually released does this mean it is damaged?
-
If a large force is applied in the operating direction due to the effects of the jig load or air, load will be applied to the lock mechanism from the side. This will cause it to catch, preventing you from being able to release it manually. Forcibly releasing the lock manually in this condition may damage the lock or cause the cylinder to move suddenly, creating a very dangerous situation. Supply air once in the direction opposite to the operating direction to keep the lock mechanism free of large forces, and then release the lock manually with due care to safety.
