The old MK series and the old MK2 series (heavy duty type) were discontinued in October 2010 and integrated into the new MK-Z series. The overall length of new MK-Z series cylinders is the same as that of old MK series cylinders, but it is 3 to 10 mm shorter than old MK2 series cylinders. If interchangeability with an old MK2 series cylinder is required, a special order product with the same dimensions (overall length) as the old product can be ordered by suffixing “-X2094” to the end of the MK-Z series cylinder part number. Note that the “-X2094” is a special order product that increases the overall length by extending the rod cover, so it is not interchangeable if it is mounted with the rod side as the reference plane. In addition, in the old MK series, there were 2 other models: the MKA (both ends tapped type) and the MKB (through-hole type). In the new MK-Z series, the basic type MKB is a through-hole/both ends tapped common type. If replacing an old MKA series cylinder that has been tapped, the mounting bolt must be lengthened taking the dimensions of the counterbore hole of the new MK-Z series cylinder into consideration.
