What is the difference between VFS and VFR series internal and external pilots?
-
Internal pilot type (standard):
This type supplies pilot pressure for driving the main valve from the SUP port of the valve.
External pilot type (semi-standard):
This type supplies pilot pressure for driving the main valve from the external pilot port (X port).
It can be used when the supply pressure to the SUP port is low or in special applications such as cylinder port pressurization and exhaust port pressurization.
Note 1) Contact SMC for details on cylinder port pressurization and exhaust port pressurization for 3-position valves.
Note 2) For the external pilot type VFR4000/5000, care must be taken when low-pressure use is not possible, etc. Check the catalog for the external pilot specifications.
