Is it normal for the coils of a VFS2100 valve to get so hot that they cannot be touched by hand?

Yes, this is perfectly normal. The coil surface temperature of VFS and VFR series valves can get as hot as the ambient temperature plus 60°C. If the product is used within the operating temperature range, this is not a problem. However, be careful when the handling the product (mainly the coil part). Refer to the following for the operating temperature ranges.
