Meter-out control is a control method in which the speed of the cylinder is controlled using the cylinder exhaust flow rate.
With meter-out control, speed adjustment is easy, and the speed is stable against load fluctuations.
Vertical control is also possible. However, control is only possible if compressed air can be secured on the exhaust side. (Cylinder lurching may occur.)
Meter-in control is a control method in which the speed of the cylinder is controlled using the cylinder supply flow rate.
With meter-in control, the exhaust conditions do not affect operation, and the piston can start moving quickly. (Cylinder lurching can be prevented.)
However, the speed is not stable against load fluctuations, and it is easily affected by external forces, which makes vertical control difficult. In addition, the air cushion is difficult to use.
