What is the difference between the N.C., N.O., and COM. type VX3 series 3-way valves?
-
For the N.C. (normally closed) type, fluid flows from port 2 to port 3 when not energized and from port 1 (inlet side) to port 2 (outlet side) when energized.
For the N.O. (normally open) type, fluid flows from port 3 (inlet side) to port 2 (outlet side) when not energized and from port 2 to port 1 when energized. And as for the COM. (common) type, which is also called the universal porting type, it can be used as a N.C. valve, a N.O. valve, a selector valve, or a divider valve.
The max. operating pressure differential of the COM. type is smaller than that of the N.C. and N.O. types.
