Can a VX222A valve with a brass body be used to replace a VX2330 valve? The catalog states that it is for water, but is it OK to use it for air? Also, is there a difference in the amount of air leakage between the type with an aluminum body and the type with a brass body?

VX222A valves with a brass body can also be used for air. The body of VX2330 valves was brass as well. However, it is also possible to select a VX220A valve with an aluminum body. The type with a brass body and the type with an aluminum body are equivalent in terms of air leakage.
