What type of solenoid valves are best for driving PA or PB series air operated process pumps?
-
The air operated process pump (PA3123, PB1013A, etc.) is an external switching type pump driving system. The pump is driven by switching the externally installed solenoid valve ON/OFF.
PA series:
For the solenoid valve for driving the pump of PA series air operated process pumps, use an exhaust center 5-port valve or combine a 3-port valve for residual pressure exhaust with a solenoid valve for driving the pump so that pressure in the pump is exhausted when the pump stops.
If pressure remains in the pump, the product life of the pump will be shortened.
Recommended solenoid valve size:
PA3□13, PAP3313, or PAF3413 with a C value of 0.55 (CV value of 0.13) or higherEx.) VQZ14□0 (exhaust center) + PA5□13: C value of 1.1 (CV value of 0.28) or higherEx.) VQZ24□0 (exhaust center)
PB series:
With the PB series air operated process pump, the return of the diaphragm pump is spring driven, so a 3-port valve is used for driving the pump. The pump is driven by turning the 3-port valve ON/OFF. Use a 3-port valve instead of a 2-port valve to exhaust the air.
Recommended solenoid valve size:
PB1013A with a C value of 0.41 (CV value of 0.09) or higher Ex.) SYJ314 series
