No, the required amount of circulating fluid for an HRZ series chiller is not the sum of the main and sub tank capacities as listed in the “Specifications” section in the catalog.
When injecting the circulating fluid for the first time after installing the chiller, enough circulating fluid to fill the main tank and the external piping is required. The circulating fluid initially injected into the sub tank is fed to the main tank by the pump by driving the chiller. The sub tank’s capacity during normal operation should be somewhere between “HIGH” and “LOW” on the circulating fluid level gauge.
